In the lonely streets of Himalaya:-

In the lonely streets of Himalaya:-
This was the mesmerizing walk over the lush green terrain. The trees decorated with yellowish, reddish leaves to show the sing of autumn. The sun was against us to show the colour. The bushes have of plenty of flowers and fruits. The bushes turned into bird paradise. I could see lot many birds and insect through out my trek .Some birds are busy in feeding their chicks. A red beaked hill crow was completing different from ordinary. Chain chatting of birds is always a inspiration to walk.

Our group
I wake up early in the morning. Everyone is looming from the tent for the tea. All the tents were covered with little ice fallen from deep blue sky. The bed spread of icy water drops all around the grass and leaves of the mountain. The wind which flow from Har Ki Dun valley bring the fragrance of snow.
Gangad village
We started our trekking the yellow tint of sun at 8 am from Kalkathiyadhar. The sky look like someone painted it by blue. Fallen leaves gave a golden shine to the terrain and to the trees. The road was such a steep that every one departed by others and become lonely. We witnessed a beautiful water fall soon after the campsite. My friend Prashanth bathed in chilling cold water. In the middle the road was completely broken because of land side. The terrain become so steep that one has to climb like a monkey in four hands. A little fumble could made us disappear in the valley. I could climb half way and stuck there. There is no one to help as I was alone but thank to god, Ravi, our one of a guide came and helped to climb the remaining half. In these terrains the local people cross with a bundle of grass with them!

We started gaining altitude gradually. As I cross a wooden bridge, we were at an altitude 11,600 feet, my heart hammering against my rib cage. I stopped. The landscape changed dramatically.
View of Ata peak on the way.

Harki dun valley
The incredible view mesmerize our mind and the tongue uttered endless ‘wow’ unknowingly! The lush green mountains are competing with the snow caped Ata peak and Swargarohini. The wild folk of sheep grazing on top of Green Mountain moved out as soon we tried to capture it. I inaudibly sit on a rock for hours. I was stunned.

Final camp site

Our tents

We camped here, on the grassy heavenly land just beside the holy clear water of the Manida stream. We were served a local dish with rice beside the Stream of Manida Lake. I never eat such a delicious sambar throughout my life! My friend Prashanth and his son Diganth and Namrata Climbed a rocky mountains as if they are monkeys. As the evening falls in the Har Ki Dun valley, the clouds hid those mountains in its lap. Nothing can be seen clearly. The day ended up with anthyakshari and some mind blowing stories of trekkers experience. I slept in the dream of resting tomorrow under the lap of Har Ki Dun valley.

ON THE ROADS OF HEAVEN... PART-2.

Second day;

Funny morning:
My few friends wake up early and wash their hands in icy cold water. Suddenly, I saw, their fingers swollen and go numb. They were so scared of frost bite but the camp leader ignored it. I made fun of them. After few minutes I looked my fingers, it also swollen like a small radish. Now their turn to laugh! It was not so funny as it sonds. The fingers became normal after 11 o’clock.
A hanging village on the mountains:-
A dream Come true:
I dream of visiting century old heavenly village Osla, which is situated at an altitude of more than 10,000 feet! This is the one of the reason to come here.

We were given a healthy breakfast, pack lunch and an apple. The apple was awesome. I haven’t eaten such a heavenly one in my life.
We gazed the village at night, it look like sky light in the night. We walked an hours to reach Olsa. The villagers were busy in their routine .The shepherd; Cow gazers were taking their folk to Gaze. The village was backdrop by snow caped peaks.
A village on the way.

Burden on her back but not on the life.

In Osla village house walls and doors were carved with different designs. The main occupation is agriculture so they design houses accordingly. The old houses were four floored, made up of stone and wood. The doors are usually small to give respect to the house holder. Each house in the village has its own storage, made of wood and used slate as a roof. They put the grass on tree to dry it for cold winter. In the middle of village, exotic beauty of Someshwara temple mesmerizes us. The temple has nice wood carvings on its wall. Earlier it was called as Duryodhana’s temple but it’s not true.

A man beating local instrument called 'Damru'

An early morning talk.

A store room.

They seem to have rich culture. A man was beating 'Damru', a local instrument, which touched my heart. An old woman collecting grains and preparing for the winter. Women wear different ornaments made of silver and gold. They were very friendly and give pose to the camera.
With the locals.
I wonder how these people came over there ? What made them to stay there? Is the young snow boy, Ranbir Sing, is still want to stay there in these villages after completing his degree?.All these questions remained with me .Every time I think of this village, these questions comes out of my mind.
A shy girl.

After Olsa a girl, Anjali, followed us. We witnessed breath taking views of valley. The red Chaulai crop and greenery made some perfect frame. Before a steep climb we sit over a rock where we can see a gigantic water fall flows, it filled our heart. It taught us be humble and look down. The views made me to take more pictures. The end less asset made our trekkers fatigue but the landscape in front worth to the fatigue. I looked ahead a U-shaped mountain to a different world. The clouds after playing with the mountains showered few drops on us. Three hours of steep ascend finally, I made to the second camp site, Kalkathiyadhar. As the sun goes down, the snow mountains were looking Orange. It looks like window to the other world behind it.
